Costa Blanca enjoys more than 2800 hours of sunshine per year, making it an ideal place to visit and escape the cold weather in Teeside. Benidorm is the main tourist resort in Costa Blanca and enjoys warm temperatures all year round as it is surrounded by mountains protecting it from the cold north winds. There is a superb amount of attractions in Benidorm, of course there are nightclubs, bars and restaurants galore but Benidorm also a number of unique attractions not found elsewhere namely the theme parks, Terra Mitica, Aqualandia and Mundomar. Terra Mitica is Costa Blanca's theme park consisting of five different areas to explore (Mediterranean, Egypt, Greece, Rome and Iberia)which should keep the kids amused for a while. If that didn't keep them amused for long enough why not visit Aqualandia Water park with its assorted shutes / springboards / pools / rapids / waterfalls and black holes after all this they should be tired enough to let you enjoy the nightlife without complaints. If you are looking for historical buildings, churches and cathedrals or even a quaint harbour area why not visit Costa Blanca's capital Alicante. Torrevieja is another town in Costa Blanca of interest and worth a visit, is surrounded by salt lakes and as a result the climate is meant to be very healthy especially for people with arthritus. On Tuesdays why not visit the market at Altea. It's the largest on the Costa Blanca taking. up much of the sea front and selling everything from fruit and vegetables to clothing and home furnishings.
